It’s a powerful biocide designed to protect plant tissue culture from microbial contamination caused by airborne, waterborne, and endogenous microorganisms. PPM is heat-stable and does not impair in vitro plant growth, seed germination, callus proliferation, and callus regeneration. It works by preventing the germination of both bacteria and fungi spores, making it a cost-effective alternative to antibiotics.

PPM not only inhibits airborne and waterborne contamination and contamination introduced from human contact but also reduces endogenous contamination. Despite the use of sterile techniques, contamination of plant cell and tissue cultures remains a persistent problem. By using PPM, researchers can effectively protect their plant tissue culture and overcome this challenge.
