Who are we?

Our history

Our journey began in 2018 when we established our own plant tissue culture laboratory, with a focus on micropropagation of aquatic plants. Despite the limited availability of protocols for our target species, we persevered through a trial-and-error process of hormone mixes and nutrient formulations, determined to discover the best approaches for our laboratory. After countless hours of experimentation and hard work, we successfully developed protocols for over 150 aquarium species, as well as several terrestrial plants.

Today, our laboratory is a leading provider of tissue cultured aquatic plants, providing high-quality products not only for our own use, but also for our clients. In addition, we specialize in the disinfection, introduction, and multiplication stages of non-aquatic plant tissue culture. While we leave the hardening off of non-aquatic plants to our clients, we remain dedicated to providing innovative and effective solutions to the challenges of plant tissue culture. Our history is a testament to our commitment to excellence, perseverance, and passion for plant science.

Our FUTURE

At Aquatic Plants SA, we are dedicated to advancing the science of micropropagation and making it accessible to a wide range of people. To achieve this, we are developing several initiatives that we believe will help us to achieve our goals.

  1. Demonstrations: We will host special visitors’ days to showcase our work on specific species groups. These demonstrations will provide an opportunity for visitors to learn more about micropropagation and see our techniques in action.

  2. Master classes: We will offer theoretical and practical training on micropropagation for all levels of experience, from beginners to advanced practitioners. Our courses will cover diffrent techniques and best practices in the field, and will be taught by persons experienced in the industry.

  3. In-house training: We will provide training for groups of hobbyists, beginners, students, and lab assistants who want to learn more about micropropagation. Our courses will be tailored to meet the needs of each group, and will include hands-on training and classroom instruction.

  4. Personal training: For individuals who are interested in pursuing a career in micropropagation, we will offer personalized training to help them develop the skills and knowledge they need to succeed. Our training programs will be designed to meet the specific needs of each individual, and will include both theoretical and practical instruction.

  5. Expand our services: We will expand our services to include plant nurseries that require mass production of their plant species. By partnering with nurseries, we can help them to increase their production efficiency and improve the quality of their plants.

With these initiatives, we are confident that we can make significant progress in advancing the field of micropropagation and helping more people to benefit from this exciting science.

Our Mission

Our mission is to democratize plant tissue culture by making it more accessible and affordable for hobbyists and professionals alike. We aim to bridge the gap between small-scale and large-scale laboratories by providing a wide range of high-quality products and services that were previously only available through expensive imports. We strive to empower plant enthusiasts and researchers with the tools they need to explore the fascinating world of tissue culture and contribute to the advancement of plant science.
